Pozar, in addition to its natural beauty, is also famous for the thermal waters that have been gushing from the mountain for thousands of years and relieving a variety of diseases. The constant temperature of water at 37 degrees Celsius, which contains minerals, trace elements and other important components, gives it healing properties. We start early in the morning from the beautiful and full of history Thessaloniki, more specifically, from its center. We all board our bus together and the adventure begins …
The journey takes less than two hours (110 km), but it seems shorter, since on our bus there is a diffuse note of joy and carefreeness. We are transported safely to the destination, thanks to our experienced guide, Mr. Iakovos. The first thing the visitor notices is that the Baths look like a water oasis, a natural spa, surrounded by imposing trees and vibrant nature. Next, we will head to the warm and relaxing pools, the baths. There, we will take a bath and immediately after, we go to a picturesque tavern, where we will taste delicacies and local specialties, accompanied by music.
Next stop is the beautiful Edessa. There, we will admire the largest waterfall in Greece, Karanos, which is a symbol of this region. Of course, we have the opportunity to get to know the area, to take photos and be photographed in one of the most famous wonders of nature. We will tour the picturesque neighborhood of Varosi, which stands out with its manorial architecture, we will see the colorful taverns and the lush parks that spring up in the urban landscape of the city. Finally, we will head to the Sesame Museum, which is another remarkable destination in the area. We will learn useful information regarding the production and promotion of sesame and from there, we will take the road back.
